What’s the best software for creating a product catalog?

I work at a manufacturing company and we’ve been using Photoshop to create product catalogs (only about 30 pages). It’s obviously not the best solution for this — so what’s the best/easiest software to use? I’m considering Indesign CS5 — is this the type of thing Indesign is used for?

InDesign would be perfect for this – it supports multiple pages so you can create the entire cataloguein one file.

If you have pictures in your catalogue as well you can place your Photoshop documents in psd format in InDesign, no need to resave in another format.

Also you can create Paragraph and Character styles for easy and consistent formatting of your text.

You can place things like page numbers etc. on a ‘master page’ which means you will only need to place them once and they will appear on each document page based on that master page.
